The Company was founded in 1999 by Mr. K M Paramasami and established under the name of Sri Balaji Export, located at Salem, Tamil Nadu.Mr. Paramasami has been associated with the grocery business since the time his father (late Mr. Marappa Gounder) ran grocery establishments in Sri Lanka.

Starting off with exports to Australia and Sri Lanka, the company later expanded operations to Canada and UK, thus growing its brand in the overseas market. Since the time of its inception in 1999, Sri Balaji Export has been registered with and is a member of the Spices Board, APEDA, FSSAI and certified by the USFDA

In 2001, the company instituted its first small scale Steamed Wheat Flour Manufacturing unit, paving the way for Steamed Wheat Flour becoming the company’s flagship product. The manufacturing unit was revamped in 2010 and upgraded with contemporary machinery to accommodate expanding business operations.

Sri Balaji Export was diversified into two separate entities – Sharon Impex, established in 2015, and Crystal Foods, established in 2017 to cater to expanding clientele in the overseas market and the growing product portfolio.In 2018, a millets processing unit was set up to complement the wheat flour manufacturing unit in aiding the expansion of product diversification.

The flagship product – Steamed Wheat Flour, is the USP of the company, being the highest selling product. In addition to Steamed Wheat Flour, the company has expanded its portfolio of export products to include all types of rice, cereals and flour, millets, spices, jaggery, variety of oils, FMCG products, kitchen utensils and appliances, Brass pooja items, Clay cooking pots, velakku items etc.,

The company aids clients in building and promoting their own brands by offering packaging and labeling services as per client’s requirements. This unique feature is at the heart of Sri Balaji Export’s value proposition offering to clients.
Additionally, the company assists clients in new pouch design, labeling and procurement.
